It’s a sell out! The Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2012

Posted on 19 Oct 2012

Demand for the biggest night out in the British manufacturing calendar, The Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2012, is so high the event has spilled over into a second room and has sold out.

The Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2012 has sold out, with almost 700 seats booked.

Demand has been so high this year that the gala event has outgrown the venue. Hosted at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London, the awards ceremony has burst out of its 500+ capacity main room and moved into an adjacent area, the Bloodhound Suite.

The extra room takes its name from Bloodhound SSC, the world land speed record attempting car, whose driving force Richard Noble will give a speech about his extraordinary 1,000mph project at The Manufacturer Director’s Conference that runs at the same venue before the awards ceremony.

Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham will provide the keynote speech at the awards on a night that will welcome the great and the good of UK industry – the people investors, the efficiency drivers and the world class manufacturers – under one roof.

The shortlisted companies include: AkzoNobel, BAE Systems, Hi-Technology Group, Milliken Industrials, Premier Foods, SCA Hygiene, GKN Structures, Sony UK Technology Centre, Caterpillar, Apex Linvar, United Biscuits, Robert McBride, CooperVision, TMAT, MDBA and Newburgh Engineering.

The Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2012 has sold out

The big night out follows The Manufacturer Directors’ Conference (MDC), the annual national conference of The Manufacturer magazine and its publisher, SayOne Media.

CEO of SayOne Media Nick Hussey said: “Its fantastic that the awards have sold out and it shows that, in spite of the economic gloom, manufacturers are busy, they are investing, doing great things with their people and processes and they want to shout about it.”

“The awards night is always full but we’ve never sold out this early before. Good luck to all the finalists and see you on what will be a terrific night celebrating British industry,” he added.

Tickets for the MDC are selling fast but places are available. For more information on the conference and awards, please visit www.themanufacturer.com/mdc2012 or contact Peter Kealy or Benn Walsh at [email protected] and [email protected].
