Carillion and Jaguar Land Rover are among 31 companies to achieve the highest rankings in responsible business management, reaching the top band in The Corporate Responsibility Index.
Carmaker Jaguar Land Rover and facilities management company Carillion have been awarded Platinum ‘Big Ticks’ in The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Index, Business in the Community’s annual benchmark of responsible business management.
The CR Index is arguably the UK’s leading and most detailed voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility. It has been run by Business in the Community, a business-community outreach charity promoting responsible business, for over a decade to help companies accurately measure and manage all aspects of their social and environmental performance.
It also helps companies shape how they integrate and improve corporate responsibility throughout their operations and benchmark themselves against competitors.
Carillion and Jaguar Land Rover are among only 31 businesses nationally to be announced as Platinum Big Tick companies, a new banding in the CR Index for 2013.
The new elite level award is designed to challenge leading companies with ‘stretch questions’ on topics such as their long-term planning and the unique contribution their business can make to affect transformational change and a sustainable economy.
