Pringle of Scotland looks likely to cease production in Hawick due to the changing market.
Under company proposals, a head office and sales centre may be retained in the area, but the manufacturing operations would terminate with the loss of 80 jobs. The firm has now begun a period of consultation with employees and GMB union.
