The Manufacturer Live (#TMlive) represents the most dynamic series of events in UK manufacturing, encompassing The Manufacturer’s Annual Leaders Conference; the launch of The Manufacturer Top 100 2016; The Manufacturer MX Awards (in association with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers), and The Manufacturer Smart Factory Expo.

This year, the nation’s biggest manufacturing-led event focuses on Industry 4.0 – the technology-driven digitization of manufacturing processes, from design and engineer, to manufacture and service.

Much uncertainty surrounds the term; what will it mean for manufacturing companies (both large and small), and how can the UK remain globally competitive in the face of such disruption?

TMALC 2016 sets the stage to answer all of UK manufacturing’s questions regarding this fundamental shift to the industrial landscape, with experts from across industry providing analysis and commentary on the biggest wave of disruptive innovation since the dawn of robots more than half a century ago.

The agenda for TMALC has just been released, with speakers including Jim Newton, director of McLaren Applied Technology; Dick Elsy, CEO of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult; Keith Jackson, CTO of Meggitt Plc; and many more.

Autodesk, who – alongside The Manufacturer, and supported by key partners – launched the Future of British Manufacturing Initiative (#FOBMI), has been announced as one of two headline sponsors for TMALC 2016.

Asif Moghal, Autodesk’s senior industry manager for manufacturing, commented: “Autodesk is delighted to be supporting TMALC for a second year running. The new industrial era is already upon us and Britain has an incredible opportunity to lead the world with great design and innovation, personalised for individual needs.

“It’s our responsibility to translate terms such as Industry 4.0 and IoT into practical and meaningful experiences that British design and manufacturing companies can convert immediately into action. Getting results is not as difficult as you’d believe and TMALC is a perfect platform for you to discover your own future of making things.”

Industry 4.0 Stock
The theme for TMALC 2016 is Industry 4.0 – the digitisation of manufacturing processes.

Grant Thornton LLP, a leading advisory, tax and audit firm, has been revealed as the second headline sponsor for TMALC 2016.

Neil Barrell, partner, business consulting, commented: “We are very pleased to be supporting TMALC once again, this year as headline sponsor. Grant Thornton supports dynamic organisations to unlock their potential for growth, something which aligns perfectly with what TMALC offers.

“There is still significant uncertainty surrounding Industry 4.0 and associated technologies within industry. We look forward to helping clients understand this fundamental change, and other complex issues, and to assist them in finding the right solutions through the use of insights, experience and instinct.”
