Kit upgrade for Dextra

Dorset-based lighting manufacturer, Dextra Group has invested in new machinery as part of a £2.5m facility upgrade.

The overhaul includes three metal working machines from Italian tool manufacturer Salvagnini.

Earlier this year the firm added an additional high capacity compactor to facilitate subsidiary Dexreco Recycling to cope with a hike in demand, as well as added new testing equipment for its R&D division.

Additionally, the company has bought a nearby property at its industrial estate and has agreed planning consent to build an HGV vehicle maintenance area and the installation of equipment to manufacturer self-sufficient packaging.

The firm is funding all the upgrades itself and hopes it will be completed by February 2016,

Dextra Group was founded in the late 1970s and manufacturers an extensive range of LED lighting for clients in areas including commercial; railways; educational; logistics, and storage, as well as major UK retailers.
