Langholm Dyeing Company, which fell into administration last month, has been saved from closure by a former employee.

The employee has purchased the building, plant and equipment, and hired 15 staff and is to resume operations under the new name of FTS Dyers. It is hoped the workforce will grow to 30 by October.

“It was clear early on that a solution would be needed very quickly and the administrators of the Langholm Dyeing Company took a very positive response,” said Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell. “It is very good news that the dyeing trade will continue at these works.”
