Last chance to enter SMMT’s Automotive Innovation Award

Posted on 22 Aug 2011 by The Manufacturer

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders calls on automotive companies that have not entered its Automotive Innovation Award to do so before the August 24 deadline.

The SMMT’s awards champion automotive innovation in the retail, manufacturing, engineering and design sectors and has already received entries from a range of automotive SMEs, from hybrid commercial vehicles and hydrogen fuel storage devices to articulated lorry stabilisers. The award is sponsored by GKN Driveline, the automotive technology division of GKN plc.

A panel of industry experts will judge the Award, and includes Jerry Hardcastle, vice-president of vehicle design and development at Nissan, Ralph Hosier, chartered engineer and motoring journalist, SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt.

Shortlisted entries receive recognition within the automotive industry and the winner will be presented with the award at SMMT’s 95th annual dinner on November, 22 at the London Hilton in front of over 800 senior industry executives.

SMMT’s Award for Automotive Innovation 2011 is free to enter.
