Manufacturing body Made in the Midlands has promoted one of its founding group directors to the newly created role of chief operating officer.
Charles Addison will take up the new position as the regional group looks to build on the last 12 months which has seen its continued growth.
Mr Addison will work closely with CEO Jason Pitt in ensuring the business remains efficient and effective in offering the best service to its members.
The appointment comes as Made in the Midlands recruited new staff and opened satellite offices across the region in Birmingham and the East Midlands.
It also saw the launch of its own industry focused magazine and the start of a series of local breakfast club networking sessions.
Mr Pitt said Addison has played an instrumental in the group’s growth since helping set up the Made in the Midlands in 2009.
“Charles has been with us from the beginning in 2009. He has been instrumental in our growth and he will be the driving force as we progress further,” he said.
“He has a great understanding of the industry and is well respected across our membership. I’m delighted that he has accepted the role.”
Addison said there are exciting opportunities ahead for manufacturing and engineering in the region.
“These are exciting times for manufacturing, industry in the Midlands is driving the growth of the economy nationally and we are here to ensure that it is successful, sustainable and recognised,” he said.
