Managing director of France Line, Marie Boyer, was the winner of this year’s Woman in Transportation category at the Network of Aspiring Women Awards.

Marie was presented with the award by Jo Cameron, the founder of the Network of Aspiring Women, and by former winner Ruth Waring, managing director of Labyrinth Logistics Consulting at a ceremony attended by 250 leading women entrepreneurs including panelist Rachel Elnaugh, a former contestant on the Dragon’s Den.

Fellow judge Penny Mallory, Rally Driver, Motivational Speaker and Presenter commented: “It was clear from Marie’s nomination that she is driven, committed and has an immense amount of passion and enthusiasm, keeping her energy up during challenging times.”

Marie said: “I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to have won. The other nominees are all inspirational individuals and to be named as the winner, by judges that I truly admire, is a huge honour.”

She added that she had won the award firstly because of the “continued growth of France Line in terms of customers, turnover, profit and staff,” and secondly because she is a “voluntary steering member” of the networking group Women in Logistics UK.

Marie has helped to transform France Line into a financially stable company through streamlining many different areas of the business, focusing on customer service, training and engaging her team to meet defined objectives.

On top of her job at France Line, as the press officer for Women in Logistics UK since July 2009 she has helped increase its profile and membership and influence perceptions of logistics as a career choice for women in the UK.
