Business advisory firm Deloitte has appointed Mark Stephenson as leader of its UK & Switzerland manufacturing industry practice.
The unit provides audit, consulting, tax and corporate finance services across the manufacturing sectors, covering aerospace and defence, automotive, process and industrial products.
Mr Stephenson said: “I am very proud and excited to be leading such a great team. Manufacturing in the UK has developed extensively in the recent past and the vibrant and diverse sector we see today is almost unrecognisable compared to a decade ago.
“During this time we have invested heavily in our own practice and are pleased to count some of the UK’s biggest manufacturing names, as well as a huge range of small and medium enterprises, among our client base.”
Mr Stephenson is an international tax partner with a particular focus on complex multinational manufacturing groups. He was formerly the North West tax leader and led manufacturing for the UK regions as well as for Deloitte’s tax service line nationally. He will continue to be based in Manchester.
Stephenson has also made two new appointments to the manufacturing executive team. Jeremy Berwick will lead the aerospace and defence practice and Simon Manning has been appointed head of audit.
