MAS to host social media day for manufacturing SMEs

The first ever social media manufacturing day will be held today by the Manufacturing Advisory Service.

Companies across England are being urged to take part in the 10-hour ‘twitter’ session, which will encourage them to share their news, products and services in a bid to raise the profile of the sector and highlight the increasingly important role this media is playing in industry.

A specialist Manufacturing Advisor will also be on hand between 7am and 5pm to answer questions on strategy, process improvements and developing new products.

Michelle Trew, digital marketing manager at MAS, said: “Social media is having a really positive effect on our sector and many manufacturers are using LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter and Instagram to develop new relationships, showcase their skills and, importantly, secure new contracts out of it.

“We’ll also be using the day to highlight the support MAS can provide and give an insight into a typical day in the lives of our 80 advisors across England,” she added.

The social media day is part of the first ever Manufacturing Matters week, which is dedicated to small to medium sized manufacturers in England.

If you want to take part you’ll need to use the #mfgmatters hashtag and follow updates from@mas_works or @mfg_matters.
