Metal cutting machine tools manufacturer Yamazaki Mazak has recorded the strongest sales performance in its history during 2012.

Last year’s sales within the aerospace, automotive and subcontract manufacturing market sectors in particular are at a record high for the company, which expressed confidence about the prospects for the UK machine tool market.

The company experienced particularly strong demand for its high value multi-axis products, including the Worcester-manufactured VTC 800 series.

Managing director UK & Ireland, sales division, Richard Smith commented: “Many of our customers are finding that their own order books are running well above their 2012 forecasts and are turning to us for new machines, automation solutions and unparalleled application support in order to improve productivity and keep pace with demand.”
