More bad news for Bridgend manufacturing sector

Following the dual announcements of both job cuts and investment at nearby Ford, cosmetics firm Budelpack COSi has now made the decision to lay off over 200 of its staff members.

The company, based in Maesteg near Bridgend, has experienced a 25 per cent sales slump over recent months and will now lose 150 agency staff and 81 full time staff in order to cope with this demand downturn.

“It is very unfortunate that we have to restructure but in this current economic climate these changes are unavoidable,” said interim site director Steve Williams.
