MTE Heat Treatment secures £multi-million lift

Specialist engineering firm, MTE Heat Treatment has relocated to a new, purpose-built facility thanks to the support of a £1.7m finance package from Yorkshire Bank.

MTE Heat Treatment, based West Yorkshire, has moved to a 35,000 square foot, brand-new purpose-built facility on a 2.5-acre plot in Slaithwaite.

The firm already employs 30 people in the local area, with that number expected to increase by a third over the coming years thanks to continued growth.

The new MTE Heat Treatment site is equipped with advanced machinery, employing the latest technology, equipment and testing facilities which enable the company to service a broad client base, including a range of automotive customers.

Its ongoing continuous investment programme, including this recent funding package, aims to ensure that the facility is maintained to the highest standard.

The firm’s director Geoff Windas explained: “Part of the finance package was used to fund two new £1m state-of-the-art furnaces. They will be the first of their kind in the UK and will provide us with a significant competitive edge in the sub-contract heat treatment market.

“Our business was constrained by lack of space in our old premises, and we expect to increase output by 80% on our new site.”

Yorkshire Bank relationship manager, Mike Edwards commented: “MTE Heat Treatment has been a customer of ours for over ten years and we’ve been delighted to watch them grow organically, especially over the past three years. We are proud to be involved in the next stage of their development and wish them every success in their new premises.”
