Mussett Aerospace, a recently formed division of Mussett Engineering, has invested in specialist inspection equipment to improve its services.
The company, which opened a dedicated 12,000sq ft aerospace production area earlier this year, has invested more than £250,000 in modern inspection machinery.
The company’s aerospace production facility now includes a Mitutoyo Contracer CV-3100, Mitutoyo Roundtest RA-2200 and Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S574 which can work off 3D models as well as drawings.
The CMM inspection and testing equipment allows the company’s engineers to carry out several high specification tests on aerospace components which are machined on-site.
“The inspection equipment is the latest stage of investment in our aerospace facility,” said managing director Gordon Mussett.
“During 2012 we have worked on a number of aerospace projects, including bearings, undercarriage components and flight controls, and this new machinery will allow us to offer an extra service to our customers, ensuring that our components are machined to the highest quality to meet the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry.”
Mussett Aerospace is part of the Mussett Technology Group, which employs about 120 people at its headquarters in Loddon, Norfolk.
