Posted on 21 May 2013 by The Manufacturer

The National Apprenticeship Competition will be launched today at the annual National Manufacturing Debate held at Cranfield University.

Apprentices from all years are invited to work in teams from their institution and build models to demonstrate their imagination and present their project at the competition site at Cranfield University.

The project will be based on developing a manufacturing facility on the Mooon.

The winner will be selected by a team of national judges.

Professor Rajkumar Roy, head of manufacturing and materials department at Cranfield University, said: “Apprenticeships are at the heart of bringing manufacturing back to the UK. We need next generation of apprentices with the right skills and flexibility.”

“The National Apprenticeship Competition launched today by Cranfield University in partnership with The Manufacturer will stretch the imagination of our apprentices and raise their ambition!”, Professor Roy added.
