The National Apprenticeship Service will highlight the talent and potential in apprenticeship training with a weeklong event in February.
Apprenticeship Week, an event to highlight the high level skills being attained by apprentices in the UK and their value to national industrial and economic prospects, will take place from Monday 7 to Friday 11 February 2011.
The National Apprenticeship Service will be running events across the country , including employer networking opportunities and the culmination of the ‘100 apprenticeships in 100 days’ initiative, which has seen regions across England attempt to get 100 young people into new apprentice positions in as many days.
Sector Skills Council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies, Semta, will be supporting Apprenticeship Week . Semta is calling for companies who are planning to co-ordinate activities for National Apprenticeship week to get in touch so they can help promote industry interaction and draw attention to what employers in their target sectors are doing to make apprenticeship routes attractive career opportunities. Case studies and stories of individual success on the part of exemplary apprenticeship will be welcomed by the SSC as well as accounts of how strong apprenticeship frameworks can bring business benefits.
If you are planning any activities for Apprenticeship Week, or have some great case studies that you would like to publicise, please contact Semta at [email protected], or call 0845 643 9001.
