The new WGM Academy for Young Engineers is looking for a principal and managing director to lead over 600 young engineers.
The University Technical College for 14 to 19-year olds is due to open in September 2014.
It is led by a partnership of local, regional and national employer organisations, and advanced manufacturing, engineering and digital technology companies.
Partners include WMG (formerly known as Warwick Manufacturing Group), University of Warwick, Jaguar Land Rover, National Grid and SCC.
Work is due to start on building the Academy (which will sit adjacent to Westwood Academy in Canley, Coventry) in August this year.
The Academy will deliver the national curriculum, but will follow a unique programme of study approaching key subject areas via their application to real-world problems.
Director of WMG Academy for Young Engineers Richard Hutchins said: “Our vision for the Academy is driven by employers and based on the challenges entrepreneurs, companies and industry face every day – designing things, making things, solving problems. We need someone who passionately believes in our vision and can deliver it.”
