Former chief executive of SMMT, Paul Everitt, will be the new chief executive of ADS and chairman of Farnborough lnternational Ltd.
Trade organisation ADS represents the interests of the UK aerospace, defence, security and space industries.
Commenting on his appointment, which will take place in 2013, Paul Everitt said: ”It is a great privilege to lead ADS and play my part in supporting the UK’s world leading aerospace, defence, security and space industries. These are strategically important sectors of the UK economy and their success is important, particularly during these challenging times in delivering jobs and prosperity for the long-term.’

Robin Southwell, ADS president and chief executive of EADS UK said he was delighted with the appointment. “Paul’s experience, knowledge and leadership qualities are well known and highly regarded, and I know he will help to further strengthen the role of ADS to achieve its ambitions in support of the UK aerospace, defence, security and space industries,” he said.
Everitt takes over from Rees Ward who was appointed chief executive of ADS in October 2011.
