A CD factory in Blackburn, Lancashire, has announced it is to close with 260 workers set to lose their jobs.
The EDC factory, with the capacity to produce 650,000 discs a day, will close in December when production will move to Germany.
“This decision was carefully evaluated, and not an easy one for EDC to make. It in no way or form reflects upon the performance or quality of work undertaken by EDC’s UK employees,” said Robert Chapman, EDC chief executive officer.
Chapman said the announcement has been made following a two year evaluation into the efficiemcy of the site.
