A new report says there is a hidden risk in the growing move by manufacturers to adopt technologies that improve their productivity by connecting disparate elements of their business.
Research by communications company Daisy, in partnership with Mitel and The Manufacturer, suggests that companies who fail to extend the information flow created by these technologies to all stakeholders, including customers and service teams in the field, are at risk of missing out on their full benefits.
The report concludes: “To become a true digital business, an organisation needs to adopt an ‘always on’ infrastructure, supported by an agile workforce which is always fully connected and protected. In this way, unified communications enable seamless information sharing, knowledge gathering, collaboration and productivity.”
