Practicing best practice

The latest in a series of manufacturing workshops take place in the West Midlands next week to help local companies boost efficiency, reduce waste and increase their profits.

Led by the Manufacturing Advisory Service – West Midlands (MAS-WM), the next trio of interactive seminars focus on Value Stream Mapping and ensuring firms are in a position to identify key issues affecting their businesses.

The events, which will be delivered by PEDA Consultants and Oneflow, will provide a hands-on insight into making sure the right processes are put in place, whilst stressing the importance of taking an organisation-wide approach to problem solving.

Simon Griffiths, chief executive of MAS-WM (pictured), believes this calendar of activity is something that local manufacturers should take advantage of: “We all talk about the importance of retaining and winning new business, but, in today’s competitive climate, it is equally vital for businesses to look at the way they operate and how they can cut costs by becoming more productive.

“The best practice workshops we run all year provide an introduction to a number of key problem solving techniques and are delivered by experts who have significant experience of working within the sector. Applying this initial learning has helped previous delegates to secure substantial business improvements and we expect this to continue.”

Ideally suited for owners and senior managers, the morning workshops will be held at three locations across the region, including Stourbridge, Coventry and Cannock on 18, 19 and 20 May respectively.
