Premier Foods, maker of Hovis bread, Mr Kipling cakes and Oxo cubes, has announced satisfactory sales over the Christmas period, and a 2007 profit within analysts’ forecast range.
A spokeswoman said that forecasts for underlying profit were between £274 million and £289 million.
Going into 2008, the company said that trading was likely to remain competitive, as well as continuing to experience high input costs.
