Covering release to service recommendations; crew protection and performance; mission system software support; technical and business support; and airworthiness and safety clearance, it follows on from the original £52.5m contract, signed with the Typhoon Project Team in August 2006.
“This contract recognises the strategic role QinetiQ continues to have in the development and future operation of this aircraft, along with the operational savings we can help the MOD achieve,” said Mike Howarth, MD for QinetiQ’s Managed Services business.
“We are focused on cost effectively developing and delivering quality support that enables the Typhoon to operate safely and to enable new sophisticated modern systems to be integrated onto the aircraft.”
