BARRNON LTD – Innovation Based in Appleby, Barrnon is a specialist engineering company providing turnkey solutions to address some of the world’s most challenging environmental threats. It specialises in robotic engineering solutions for harsh environments – including the decommissioning of some of the most prominent historic nuclear facilities. An Exeter-based company with over 25 years in oilfield innovation. AnTech design and manufacturer products for the upstream oil and gas industry. The company has its headquarters in Exeter and a presence in Texas and Saudi Arabia. AnTech design, manufacture and test all of their products in-house, spanning all areas of mechanical, electrical and software design engineering. BioSure (UK) Ltd develop, manufacture, source and distribute rapid tests. The company specialise in providing solutions utilising rapid Point of Care Tests (POCT). COBALT AEROSPACE LTD – Innovation & International Trade Based in Norwich, Cobalt develops creative solutions and practical products for commercial aircraft. All Cobalt Aerospace products are designed and manufactured in-house. COBRA BRAIDING MACHINE – International Trade Cobra Braiding received the award in the international trade category as export accounts for 95% of their sales. The company, based in Congleton, Cheshire, has been manufacturing wire braiding machines for 40 years. CRYSTAL DOORS – Sustainable Development Rochdale based manufacturer Crystal Doors manufactures vinyl-wrapped doors and components for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, employing 34 local people. HIGH SEAT HOLDINGS LIMITED – Innovation West Yorkshire-based UK furniture manufacturer and retailer HSL has started the year in royal fashion after being honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation. The family-run business which has more than 50 years’ experience hand-crafting chairs, sofas and beds in West Yorkshire is one of 205 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Headquartered in Ware, Hertfordshire, Makevale Group has two manufacturing sites in the UK. The award has been given for Makevale’s development of special acrylic polymers which are used in the repair of bones, among other uses. Trading as MasterMover, the company is a global leader in the design and manufacture of compact, powerful, battery-operated tugs that allow customers to safely move wheeled loads ranging in weight from 50 kg to more than 100,000 kg. MasterMover received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2021, recognised for outstanding continuous growth in overseas sales over the past six years. NAYLOR CLAYWARE – International Trade Pipe manufacturer Naylor Clayware has been honoured with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category for its high-performance products which are used in demanding applications around the world. Naylor Clayware is a division of Naylor Industries plc, a fourth generation family business based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Clay pipe production is an activity which has been associated with the Naylor Group since its foundation in 1890, but as the needs of the construction industry have evolved, so too has the Naylor product offering. The development of high-performance clay pipe systems for trenchless installation and handling hot or corrosive effluents has led to areas of world-leading technical expertise. ONYX INSIGHT – Innovation & International Trade ONYX InSight, a leading provider of predictive data analytics and engineering expertise to the global wind industry, has won two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise – the highest official UK awards for British companies – in the categories of Innovation and International Trade. Only five businesses received two awards in 2021, with ONYX InSight the only renewable energy business to win double honours. PAC GROUP – Innovation Belfast-based Pac Group has been named as a winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.
