Mechanical and electrical engineering contractors WT Parker Group has reported a record year in sales and investment.
Pre-tax profits increased by 63% while sales were up by 10% on the previous year, generating revenue of more than £71m.
The last year the firm completed a self-funded £3.6m investment at its Group head office and purpose-built facility in Burton-upon-Trent.
Since celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2012, WT Parker Group has been developing the site in order to accommodate its growth ambitions and ever-expanding portfolio of products and services.
The Group has also invested heavily into its people through training programmes and the appointment of two new board directors for its largest subsidiary, WT Parker Ltd.
It employs 314 people in production and 137 in management and administration.
Sean Smyth, managing director at WT Parker Group commented: “We wouldn’t have been able to achieve this growth without the strength of our people and depth of our offering.
“This is why we have made sure to equip them with the skills they need to support our business.”
By diversifying its offering, the organisation has been able to build upon its trusted reputation in the industry and 50 years experience by offering a more complete solution for larger projects.
WT Parker Group is one of few national contractors still family-owned and managed. It was founded in 1920 by Mr. W.T. Parker and the third generation is still active in the business.
Smyth added: “Four key factors have contributed significantly to our business growth. Our partnering philosophy with clients, the re-organisation of our business streams, transforming and developing service offerings and our staff incentive scheme. Our ultimate vision is to achieve growth in revenue to £100m and we firmly believe we are well on track to realise this.”
As well as its core business of mechanical and electrical engineering, WT Parker Group also covers manufacturing and process solutions, power distribution and control solutions as well as renewable and future-ready energy and lighting solutions.
