Donwood Glass, manufacturer of flat glass in the North East, has revealed record sales and created 12 new jobs at its facility in Gateshead.
After significant increases in demand for its products over the past 18months, Donwood Glass has created several jobs in its production team.
The boost in sales is a result of a series of investments over the past 12 months, one being the installation of a new production line to help boost capacity.
In addition, the firm has won new contracts on top of seeing repeat business from previous customers. Donwood is also set to create and fill further roles to help with the continued rise in demand.
Andrew Donnelly, director at Donwood Glass, said being able to create new jobs “is particularly rewarding”.
“As a family-run business, which originated here in the North East, we’re dedicated to making sure we reinvest in the local economy and people here in Gateshead and across the wider region,” he added.
“We anticipate that sales will continue to grow into the third and fourth quarters of 2016 and we’re looking forward to seeing where the expansion of our on-site technology, equipment and of course, investment in the Donwood team will take us.”
