Rexam, the packaging and beverage can maker, has announced it has now been given the go ahead by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS) to complete the acquisition of Russian can making company Rostar.
As a part of the agreement, Rexam has pledged to increase beverage can prices in Russia by no more than 15 per cent per year, and to support Russian business in order that it might achieve market growth.
The acquisition, which was first announced in July 2007, is expected to be completed in early 2008.
