The new platform will support RS Components’ industrial maintenance customers using AI, machine learning, augmented and virtual reality.

Global industrial equipment and facilities distributor RS Components and leading global IT services, consulting, and business solutions organisation Tata Consultancy Services today announce RS Industria

RS Industria connects real-time factory floor data with powerful analytical capabilities that continuously support RS Components’ manufacturing customers in their maintenance and repair activities. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) platform, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) means the industrial supplier can better support those on the factory floor.

Through RS Industria, RS Components can use machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) solutions to get better and faster insight into their data, bringing the best of TCS’ Bringing life to Things IoT framework. It simplifies the connection of existing sources of manufacturing asset data, such as vibration sensors, PLCs, SCADA systems & utility meters.

RS Industria is still in the development phase and the collaboration will continue until the full product is launched and customers start using it.

Richard Jeffers, Director of Industrial Digital Solutions at RS Components commented: “It is important to us that TCS really understands how to build solutions for industrial businesses within a hyper-scale cloud service platform. TCS has the worked with us collaboratively throughout on the coding, the architecture, the DevOps and the support processes to bring this customer-facing solution to life.”

“The next 12 months for us is about taking the learning from our original beta customers and feeding it back into the product and our business processes so that we can start to think about scaling up and really starting to move towards a commercially successful product.”
