RS Group plc, a digitally enabled global distributor of product and service solutions for industrial customers, is celebrating the achievement of the top cyber security standard, awarded to the RS Industria data platform, which monitors critical industrial assets in real-time.
RS Industria has gained the coveted ISO 27001 Cyber Security standard, confirming that its digital technology, IT infrastructure and internal security procedures meet the tough requirements of this global measurement. This standard assures customers of RS Industria’s cloud-based asset monitoring solution that it will not expose their manufacturing systems to additional cyber-security risk.
ISO 27001 examines all aspects of cyber security and the RS Industria technology team has been reviewing and updating the system and related procedures for more than a year in preparation for this ISO audit. The audit was conducted by the British Standards Institution Group, one of the world’s top standards organisations and a founding member of the ISO 27001 standard.
The RS technology team was led by Elia Diaz. She said: “The rigorous, in-depth audit lasts a full week so gaining this standard is a real achievement, and the auditors were impressed by our thorough approach. This accreditation reflects a core founding principle of RS Industria: that cyber-security is at the core of everything we do, so our customers can fully trust our cloud-based asset monitoring service.
“The effort was not just confined to RS Industria, as there has been significant support from the core RS business technology and InfoSec teams. RS Industria is the first part of RS Group to be accredited in this way, and it is testament to how seriously RS takes its solutions businesses,” she added.
RS Industria helps industrial firms simplify digital transformation, by connecting a wide range of new and legacy equipment and continuously monitoring their performance and energy usage. This invaluable real-time data enables manufacturers to improve reliability, avoid costly downtime and reduce energy consumption – all of which lead to increased operational efficiencies and significant cost-savings.
Diaz concluded: “The award of this standard puts RS Industria firmly in the top-tier of cloud-based industrial monitoring companies, and strengthens our distinctive and successful approach to the digitisation of industry: Start Simple, Grow Smart.”
