Constant Group has continued its rapid growth through 2015 with a companywide re-branding programme; key new appointments; fleet expansion, and plans to launch a creative engineering project aimed at local schools.

Established in 1970, Constant Aluminium Supplies Ltd supplies services to local business in the North West and, after continued business development and becoming known by customers simply as Constant, the company has officially changed its name to Constant Group Ltd.

A rebranded website has been launched – www.constantgroup.co.uk, reflecting its six strong businesses including; Constant Engineering, the original kick plate and components business which operates alongside Constant Manufacturing the growing precision sheet metal solutions division.

Constant Group offers a single source sheet metal fabrication solution.

Its chairman, Richard Garlick commented: “45 years ago I couldn’t have envisaged being part of a company providing a range of metal work solutions to companies around the world, from leading fitness brands like Fitbit to local motorbike manufacturers such as CCM Motorcycles.

“Today we employ more than 70 people from the Manchester area, something again I’d never have thought possible when I started up with my father in the 1970s.”

His children, Matt Garlick and Emma Gilligan are joint managing directors, heading up the business development of the Group.

Matt Garlick noted: “We’re proud to have flourished this year, with the installation of a new state-of-the-art Trumpf CNC punching machine expanding our capacity, alongside a new 7.5 tonne Fuso Wagon to our fleet. Our new truck makes us a three-strong fleet with a collective load ability of 13 tonnes.”

He continued: “Due to our growth, we’ve been able to hire additional local welders and appoint a fourth CAD design dngineer, Les Armitage to meet growing design demand, as well as digital marketing manager, Alaina Chesney to enhance our Business Development Division.”

Emma Gilligan added, “The fleet of wagons and multiple key appointments are unheard of within smaller metal-work manufacturers like us. But we love to lead the way, following in Dad’s footsteps with innovation, technology and continued investment into the business and its staff.”

The Group has ambitious plans to get young budding engineers interested in manufacturiung careers with plans to introduce various creative projects at both primary and secondary school level for the children of Oldham and surrounding areas.

Constant now boasts a 30,000 sqft manufacturing site adjacent to the M60 making it one of the largest single-source sheet metal businesses in the North West, with capabilities including CAD design through to powder coating and assembly.
