The Yorkshire-based steel giant’s strong management team, innovation, past growth and future prospects has earned it a top 10 place in the Sunday Times Profit Track ‘Ones to Recognise’ list.

Forgemasters is the only Yorkshire-based company to feature in the esteemed ‘Ones to Recognise’ list which showcases a selection of companies that have either had, or predict, a good profit growth.

The manufacturer beat off stiff competition from hundreds of prospective UK companies to rank amongst nine other businesses in the list. This year, the list includes renowned shoe manufacturer Dr Martens, the pharmaceutical giant DDD Group and communications technology supplier, Metaswitch Networks.

Peter Birtles, non-executive director of Sheffield Forgemasters, said: “The manufacturing industry in Britain is one of the best in the world and is a sector that continues to diversify and succeed in this difficult climate. Our manufacturing skills continue to win key global contracts, tap into the fastest growing sectors and maintain a market lead in niche products.”
“Some companies on this list have gone on to feature in the main Profit Track 100 league table and our long term vision would be to do just that,” he added.

The judging panel included serial entrepreneur Luke Johnson and Fast Track’s founder Hamish Stevenson.

Forgemasters has recently seen a host of award wins which includes the Apprentice Awards (Yorkshire and Humber) Large Employer of the Year and the Made in Sheffield Award.
