Plasterboard manufacturer Siniat has invested more than £250,000 in a new laboratory at its factory in Bristol.
The new facility will bring Siniat’s production, maintenance and quality assurance teams together in a single location, improving internal collaboration and efficiency as well as supporting innovation.
The laboratory will also act as a visitor centre, helping Siniat to demonstrate product capability to customers.
Construction work on the laboratory began in May 2013 and is now complete, with the lab fully operational.
Commenting on the £250,000 investment Stephane Mettavant, plant manager said: “We’ve embarked on an ambitious programme of change for our Bristol plant since becoming Siniat. It’s focused on improving facilities for our customers and our employees and creating an environment in which we can share our expertise.”
Mr Mettavant said that the firm has already made significant progress on this long term vision, particularly with regards to streamlining processes. This has resulted in reduced customer complaints. “The new lab represents the next stage of reinforcing that quality assurance,” he explained.
Siniat was formerly known as Lafarge Plasterboard. It was acquired by the Etex group at the end of 2011 and began trading as Siniat in October 2012.
