From 14 to 16 November, manufacturers come together at the 'Smart Factory Expo' in Liverpool where they take the chance to swap ideas on productivity boost and technological innovations in the manufacturing sectors.
Smart Factory Expo 2017, the event of the year draws near.
Our editors, Nick Peters and Jonny Williamson, are already looking forward to speaking to, learning from and connecting with thousands of enterprising manufacturers from the UK.
Based on the exciting and interesting conversations they enjoyed in the last years, Nick and Jonny reveal who and what they are really looking forward to.
Nick Peters: “The speaker I am most keen to sit down with is Simon Bradley, Global Head of Innovation at Airbus.
“As well as leading research into the furthest reaches of the technologies that are revolutionising manufacturing, Simon is also charged with protecting Airbus from cyber-attack and is therefore one of the most knowledgeable people in the business about cyber security.
“If there is a soft underbelly to manufacturing, that is it.
“And what am I looking forward to most? Actually, the answer is all of it. The energy generated at these events is fantastic, driven by the passion these people have for manufacturing in the UK.
“If you were to absolutely pin me down to a personal must-see, I would say the exhibits at the Smart Factory Expo. The technology on display is awe-inspiring!”
Jonny Williamson: ““There are so many Leaders Conference speakers I’m looking forward to hearing – Accolade Wines’ Alison Beard Gunter explaining how to implement 4IR into an FMCG supply chain, Trakrap’s Martin Leeming on the rise of the ‘Digital Twin’, and Tata Steel’s David Hudson discussing advanced analytics in a traditional process industry. All topics which should be top-of-mind for so many industrial executives.
“Alongside the Leaders Conference, the exhibitor list for Smart Factory Expo is incredible, a veritable who’s who of digital technology providers and enablers spread across four exciting dedicated zones – Industrial Automation, Digital Transformation, Industrial Internet, and Smart Factory.
“With a packed speaker agenda, a real-time Hack & Pitch taking place, Innovation Alley, a STEM Showcase and a focus on Women in Digital Manufacturing, I can’t wait to get there and start taking it all in.”
