The West Yorkshire-based business has acquired cutting-edge machinery, including a hybrid CNC production system combining heavy-duty routing with rapid knife cutting.

The oscillating knife will reportedly allow the company to better process thinner, flexible materials, including foam core and corrugated plastics, delivering clean cut edges without fraying.

According to ActionPlas, it can now also process thicker, softer materials, alongside quickly achieving exact alignment with printed shapes.

Additionally, the purchase of two Haas Mini-Mill 2 Vertical Machining Centres offers increased milling capacity and high-speed processing capabilities.

ActionPlas has also made investments in expanding its workforce having welcomed 11 new employees since 2015, including team members in sales, HR and production. Further positions across sales, design and management are expected to be announced before the end of 2017.

Expanding its warehousing facilities by an additional 13,000 sqft to 25,000 sqft at its Grangefield Industrial Estate headquarters in Leeds has seen the firm grow both production and stock space.

Its managing director Chris Wray, commented: “In line with our growth strategy and to meet an increasing demand for our products, we have made significant investment in our workplace, machinery and personnel to allow for increased output, shorter lead times and the ability to take on more work.

“We’re confident that our continued investment in innovation and technology will help us achieve the growth in capacity and capability we need to support new projects, future-proof our business and ensure we can continue to offer our customers a complete, high-quality service, while remaining flexible to evolving trends.”
