SSC Laser, a company that specialises in flat and tube laser cutting, has invested £1m in a third 18,000 square foot manufacturing facility on Stover Trading Estate in Yate, Bristol.
Ben Cliss, south west sales manager, SSC Laser, said: “We’re really excited about the investment the company has made in the South West region considering the company has only been established in this area since 2012. The past two years have seen massive growth for our business and we are very grateful to our customers for their support in helping us to grow our business so quickly.”
The new facility, which will allow the company to gradually expand into its new premises, will feature the very latest laser cutting technology which will be added to existing machinery during 2015.
Along with an Amada press brake, a brand new Bystronic By Autonom 6kw flatbed laser was delivered to the factory in early December.
SSC’s new facility, which will offer both flat and flat and fold laser engineered components manufactured from mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium materials, will be fully operational at the beginning of January 2015.
The extra capacity will enable the firm to act quickly to customer inquiries and deliver finished goods to customers in quick lead times.
SSC Laser has its head office in Hixon, Staffordshire. It was established in 2000 and now has six sites in the UK, Hixon, Derby, Sunderland, Motherwell, Slough and Bristol. The company employs 60 people across the six sites and is planning further expansion in 2015.
