Samuel Taylor Limited (STL) is charging up to showcase its expertise in battery busbars at an upcoming industry event.
The Battery industry is going through a power revolution with big technology companies investing heavily in the next generation of battery development and energy storage. STL plays an important role within the battery value chain and has a proven track record producing dual thickness, multi materials and contacted busbars in house for a variety of applications, including remote disconnect smart meters and battery pack technology.
STL will be exhibiting at the Battery Tech Expo 2025, taking place at The Wing, Silverstone on the 26th and 27th March 2025.
One of STL’s historical success stories involves producing the dual thickness, contacted busbars used in smart meters.
Utilising this core competency, STL has also previously partnered with a leading developer of EV battery modules from the offset to design and build a pilot scale stamping line for their EV battery, working to produce 10,000 initial prototypes.
This was followed by the development of a brand-new dual thickness method of manufacture to enable scalable production of a total of 70,000 busbars in accordance with stringent quality requirements.
In addition, STL manufactured specialist busbar production for the 350 kilometres per hour Lotus Evija which includes locally reduced thickness areas of extreme flatness and thickness tolerances for laser welding to the battery cells.
STL look forward to welcoming conversations about this and other projects at the exhibition.
Having recently celebrated 125 years in business, STL has been at the forefront of engineering technology, supplying intelligent, cost-effective precision engineering solutions for manufacturing industries across the world.
From sophisticated bonding of base and precious metals, manufacture of electrical contact rivets, precision stamping and welded contact assemblies, our unique blend of technology, experience and knowledge enables STL to create effective cost driven solutions to address the most complex of manufacturing challenges.
STL can be found on stand B14 at Battery Tech Expo 2025, where the team will exhibit bonded aluminium and copper ALCu, bonded silver and copper SilCu, and “spot welded” aluminium and copper.
