Broxap, an outside-furniture manufacturer in Staffordshire, has bought out Wigan-based rival BollardTech Ltd in a deal reportedly worth in the region of half-a-million pounds.
Broxap makes things like benches, smoking shelters, playground facilities and railing from its base in Chesterton near Stoke-on-Trent and another plant in Southport, Merseyside. The production of BollardTech’s street furniture and cycle parking wares will now move from Greater Manchester and be split between Broxap’s two factories.
The acquired BollardTech has supplied to major retail chains like Tesco and Boots as well as local authorities.
Broxap expects to turn over £40 million this year.
