Pickerings Lifts, the UK’s largest independent lift manufacturer, is opening a major new office in Burgess Hill, Sussex, in a move that will significantly expand its national reach.

The move is the latest stage of the company’s ambitious five-year growth strategy launched in 2011, that will see the company strive to double its turnover from £20m to £40m.

Spread over two floors, the 1,263 sq. ft. space on Victoria Rd will house a ground floor warehouse, with offices situated on the second level.

A team of 12, headed by customer support manager, Glyn Evans, will be based at the office, delivering Pickerings’ full suite of services, including lift maintenance, callout and repair service, lift and access products, loading systems, escalators, as well as heating and cooling systems to customers in the South Coast.

Pickerings Lifts already works with a number of major clients in the area including local hotels, businesses, councils and high street retailers.

Glyn Evans, said: “This expansion is great news for Pickerings Lifts, and great news for our client base in the area, which we can provide an even better level of service to. The new office really demonstrates our ambitions as a group, and will allow us to broaden our reach across the whole of the South Coast. We have a great team in place, and we’re looking forward to growing the office, and continuing to deliver the outstanding quality of work our customers have come to expect from us.”

Pickerings Lifts employs more than 360 people across 12 offices in the UK. The Burgess Hill office comes on the back of Pickerings’ most recent expansion, in Gateshead, in December 2013.
