Tata Motor Group experienced a steady growth of sales, including an 11% growth in wholesales over May last year and even sharper rises in sales of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
The Group’s global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), were 88,251 in May 2011, a growth of 11% over May 2010. Cumulative sales for this fiscal year are 175,370 higher by 11% compared to the same period in 2010-11.
Global sales of JLR in May this year were 22,296 vehicles, higher by 17%. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,221, lower by 18%, while Land Rover sales were 18,075, an increase of 30%. Cumulative sales of JLR for the fiscal year are 41,732, an increase of 13% on the last year. Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 7,305, lower by 16%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 34,427, higher by 22%.
Global sales of all commercial vehicles manufactured by Tata Motor Group were 44,070 in May 2011; a growth of 20%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal year are 85,249 – a growth of 20%.
Global sales of all passenger vehicles were at 44,181 in May 2011, a growth of 2%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal year are 90,121, a growth of 4%.
Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution off take in India of Fiat cars were at 21,885 for the month, lower by 9% over May 2010. Cumulative sales for the fiscal year are at 48,389, lower by 2%.
