Tate & Lyle is to part ways with its finance director, John Nicholas, by way of a “mutual agreement”.

Nicholas, who joined the company in 2006, is now set to leave at the end of the month, taking with him a full compensation package.

Chief executive Iain Ferguson described the departure as “amicable”, and that it had been a delayed response to the significant drop in the group’s share price announced in September 2007.
