Derby-based communications equipment manufacturer Team Telecom Group is ranked 4th for the Derbyshire region in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200.
Team Telecom Group (TTG) was recognised in the tracker for companies with fast growing international sales for its contribution to international trade over the last two years, with 25% growth in sales.
TTG increased turnover by 30% in 2013, by investing in new products and expanding into overseas markets. Its workforce also grew, and TTG now has 327 employees across the group.
Its recent overseas expansion is partly thanks to a deal with mid-market private equity house Gresham, which provided the company with equity capital last year. Through its three companies – Simoco Group, Indigo Telecom Group and affini – TTG operates in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Americas.
Commenting on the ranking, CEO of TTG Mike Norfield, said: “Since our management buy-out in 2010, we have continued to invest in new technologies across our three companies to deliver mission-critical communications to organisations in sectors ranging from emergency services, utilities, transport, oil and gas.
He added “Our ranking in the International Track is a great achievement, and we intend to build on our global strategy by delivering our products and services into existing and emerging markets.”
The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 ranks companies based on their growth in international sales over the last two years of available accounts.
The 26 companies ranked in the Midlands have contributed strongly to the regional economy, adding 2,930 jobs and achieving combined sales of £2.9bn. Nationally, the International Track 200 companies increased overseas sales by an average of 44% over two years to a total of £8.2bn.
