IMechE’s Home Automation Challenge is an innovative design and manufacturing competition which sees apprentices challenged to improve an everyday home or garden device to make a job easier.

The 2017 Finals Day is where each team demonstrates their prototype and presents it to a panel of industry experts. The judges base their decisions on design integrity, quality of prototype, functionality, presentation, and the depth of each team’s knowledge.

The winning team will receive £2,000 and one team will be presented with a Judges Highly Commended Award and receive £500. Both will be announced at the awards ceremony at the end of the day.

The Competition Finals and Awards Ceremony is being held in the exhibition space at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry on Friday 14 July, from 10:00 to 15:00.
