thyssenkrupp Materials UK, the material supplier and supply chain solutions provider in the UK, is excited to announce its partnership with ClearVUE.Business, a renowned net-zero consultancy, for a ground-breaking sustainability project focused on energy monitoring.

This initiative is aligned with thyssenkrupp Materials Services – holding company of thyssenkrupp Materials UK, and its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 within the frame of the sustainability strategy “BEYOND”.

As part of the largest mill-independent materials distribution and service supplier in the Western world, thyssenkrupp Materials UK supplies a wide range of materials, including aluminium, steel, titanium, and other products. With extensive in-house capabilities for cutting, CNC machining, waterjet cutting, and fabrication, as well as a coil processing division offering slitting and cut-to-length services, the company plays a vital role in various sectors.

The upcoming installation of advanced energy monitoring equipment is scheduled to commence in October and will encompass five key thyssenkrupp Materials UK sites. By implementing the monitoring system, the company aims to gain valuable insights into scope 1 and 2 emissions while providing detailed reporting on both costs and carbon intensity per product manufactured.

The collaboration between thyssenkrupp Materials UK and ClearVUE.Business is set to have a transformative impact on the organisation’s overall consumption and emissions. By analysing the data generated through the energy monitoring equipment, the teams will identify targeted areas for improvement and work diligently towards improvements and achieving climate neutrality. The goal is to provide a comprehensive cradle-to-gate carbon footprint for thyssenkrupp Materials UK’s products by 2024, with a step-by-step rollout strategy for selected items.

This sustainability project signifies thyssenkrupp Materials UK’s commitment to environmental responsibility and its dedication to making tangible progress in establishing itself as a leader in sustainability, supporting the manufacturing sector.
