UK training provider First4Skills, has been appointed by TNT Post to help recruit apprentices to work at its depots across the UK.
The apprentices will be presented to TNT Post through a tailored recruitment service, which will provide successful applicants with a minimum of 12 months training in a permanent apprentice position.
With a focus on delivering substantial, sustained training in mail service operations, the apprenticeship programme will provide transferable skills across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, to maximise expertise.
TNT Post’s main aim for the programme is to produce home grown talent for the future expansion of its business and to support the communities in which it operates, through the creation of new employment opportunities.
Alison Parkes, Chief Operating Officer at First4Skills, said: “We are delighted to be working with TNT Post and developing a bespoke apprenticeship recruitment service to suit their business needs.
At First4Skills we are passionate about providing solutions to businesses to support innovation, business and young people. Working together with TNT Post to develop the next generation of experts within their business will provide great opportunities for young people”
TNT Post has also made a pledge to track the successful candidates’ development on completion of their apprenticeship to provide further opportunities including possible progression onto an Advanced Level Apprenticeship.
Nick Wells, CEO of TNT Post UK, said: “We are delighted to be offering these new apprenticeships to young people who want to succeed in business. At TNT Post we are always looking to attract new talent to our business and are excited to introduce a scheme which offers apprentices the opportunity to really excel in personal and professional development. We are committed to tackling youth unemployment and getting young people into work, and this is another step we are taking to help those who need it most.”
In addition to the apprenticeship scheme, First4Skills recently worked together with TNT Post to develop and introduce a Buddy and Mentoring programme to allow existing employees to share their knowledge and provide guidance to the new apprentices.
