UK made cooling bracelet named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026

A UK designed and made cooling bracelet has been named on TIME’s prestigious Best Inventions of 2026 list in the Health & Wellness category.

The MyCelsius Cooling Bracelet, a sleek and science-driven wearable that cools the wrist to help ease hot flushes, is one of only two UK inventions in the category on this year’s list, and the recognition comes just one year after the bracelet went on sale.

TIME builds the list from nominations by its editors and correspondents around the world. It features 300 extraordinary innovations changing our lives, judged on key factors including originality, efficacy, ambition and impact.

MyCelsius was founded by CEO Maxime Kryvian and CTO Aonghus O’Donovan, a former Dyson and Formula One engineer, to offer cooling comfort during hot flushes arising from a wide range of causes, including perimenopause, menopause, stress and many more.

Their invention, the Cooling Bracelet, is patent-pending and incorporates one of the smallest and most powerful cooling systems in the world, using thermoelectric cooling to lower skin temperature by 10 degrees celsius within 10 second, and 20 degrees during a three-minute session. The wrist is one of the body’s most heat-sensitive areas, so cooling it helps the whole body feel cooler during a hot flush. A Night Mode also provides up to eight hours of gentle cooling during sleep.

The bracelet was developed over three years with a community of women going through perimenopause and menopause, along with specialist doctors and thermal health specialists. MyCelsius is pioneering a new era for wearables that are intervention-based, solving the challenge on the body, as opposed to simply tracking it.

Since launching in October 2025, MyCelsius has sold out its first production run, with a second run due to start with pre-sales from 15th October. MyCelsius has a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot, with reviews referring to the device as ‘life-changing’.

Maxime Kryvian, Co-Founder and CEO of MyCelsius, said: “For too long, millions of women (and men) experiencing hot flushes have been expected to simply put up with them. We set out to change that by developing something practical, discreet and backed by science that is genuinely useful. To receive this recognition from TIME just one year after launching is an incredible milestone for our team. But what matters most are the messages we receive from customers telling us the difference our bracelet is making to their everyday lives. That’s what drives us to keep innovating.”

Aonghus O’Donovan, Co-Founder and CTO of MyCelsius, said: “There’s a lot of engineering packed into something you hardly notice you’re wearing, and every part of it was shaped by the women we worked closely with throughout its development. Having TIME recognise our invention means an enormous amount to our team, and I hope it shows what’s possible when we apply serious engineering to women’s health.”
