West Yorkshire based MES Systems Integrator Cimlogic has recently been selected to provide an overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) system at leading fast-moving consumer goods supplier Unilever in Leeds.
Unilever has three global divisions – food, home care and personal care. Many of its home care products are market leading brands including Cif, Comfort, Domestos and Persil.
Following a successful OEE pilot study, Cimlogic has secured a project to work with Unilever which produces household brands of deodorants and antiperspirants including Lynx and Dove at their Leeds production facility.
Unilever were looking to replace their existing losses system with an off the shelf package to measure plant and machine metrics such as downtime, OEE, TEEP, MTBF and MTTR . Cimlogic will implement TrakSYS™ real time operations and performance management software to measure and improve the efficiency of Unilever’s production lines as part of the company’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Matthew Thompson, Projects Engineer at Unilever said ‘’We selected Cimlogic to assist us with improving the visibility and accuracy of data collection, as we believe they are perfectly positioned to provide us with the right tools and solutions to improve the standard of performance monitoring in terms of OEE, downtime and performance losses.
It was important for us to get buy in from the operators on the shop floor, as they are key to the data input from which we can actually make improvements from. We want to achieve a better understanding of the drivers for improvement and feel we are now better equipped to respond to these through more intelligent based decision making’’.
Cimlogic has worked with a variety of manufacturers within food and beverage, pharmaceutical, CPG, and processing industries providing manufacturing execution systems to help improve profitability of manufacturing processes and increase overall efficiency of operations.
