Personal care and pharmaceutical contract manufacturer UPL have been awarded North West Manufacturer Of The Year, and the North West Business Of The Year at the 2012 BIBA awards hosted by the North West Chamber of Commerce.
The Lancashire awards officially opened Preston’s Guild Week and the ceremony was held in the Big Top on Avenham Park last week on 31 August.
A cross section of the UPL (Universal Products) team attended on the night and the whole group went up on stage to receive the awards and be part of a group photo.
After winning the award, UPL’s managing director, Mike Peters commented: “Our customers have won many awards for their products, which of course are formulated and manufactured by us, so it gives me great pleasure that on this occasion the UPL team has been recognised for their creativity, productivity and their contribution to the local community, and the industry we serve proudly.
“It is a credit to everyone at UPL that the great work we have done in recent years has been recognised by the North West Chamber of Commerce in this way and we are both delighted and privileged to be in the company of the other finalists who have clearly worked so hard throughout the current economic downturn.”
