A state-owned oil and gas company in Bolivia is seeking suppliers of goods and services to assist in movement of natural gas and crude oil.
Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos, or, more simply, YPFB, needs to meet an increase in domestic demand. There are a number of new petrochemical plants springing up in the country, with rising demand for power generation and heavy industry equipment.
Although demand has decreased since the start of the worldwide recession, Bolivia produces 44,660 barrels of oil a day.
There are increasing energy needs in the transport sector and more domestic households are using natural gas. As in other South American countries, there is high growth in Bolivia, with GDP growing by 5.1% in 2011.
With growing exports of natural gas to Argentina and Brazil, the company is seeking overseas companies to provide pipes, pumps, compressors and generators.
The British Embassy in La Paz can help interested British companies make contact with the state oil company.
