Welsh Assembly funding for Load-Lok Merthyr

Load-Lok Manufacturing, producers of cargo restraint systems is set to expand its Merthyr site with funding from the Welsh Assembly government.

The firm is part of Load-Lok International Group and is based in the Netherlands.

The Merthyr factory manufacturers poles, decking, lashing, and slings used in road-haulage vehicles, containers and the aerospace industry.

Edwina Hart, Welsh Economy Minister confirmed support of £210,000 towards the £624,000 development from the Wales Economic Growth Fund.

The funding will safeguard 12 jobs and create a further 10 for the 60-strong site.

The expansion includes the creation of a pillar to provide better support for curtain-sided vehicles.

Julie Lewis, the company’s business and finance director said: “This is an important investment in Merthyr that will increase our production capacity, speed up the manufacturing process and bring new work to the site.

“It means we will be able to offer a more efficient and cost-effective service. Support from the Welsh Assembly government towards this expansion is vital, and we look forward to creating new jobs in the area.”
